It seems universally accepted that the birth of Next Generation 911 (NG911) service in the United States occurred when the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) released in 2001 its “E9-1-1 Future Path Plan.” Ever since then, state and local 911 authorities, with support from the federal government, have strived to implement NG911 technology, which represents a quantum leap forward in terms of service delivery compared with legacy 911 systems.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (March 12, 2021) — Mission Critical Partners (MCP) announced today that Joseph Wheeler was selected to receive this year’s Robert P. Shumate National Public Safety Contributor to Excellence Award from the IJIS Institute. Wheeler recently joined MCP when the firm acquired Seattle-based MTG Management Consultants, where he served as senior partner and chief executive officer (CEO). Wheeler is an MTG cofounder and led the firm’s justice and courts practice. He serves in a similar role at MCP as vice president of justice and courts.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa., November 9, 2020—An initiative to interconnect three Pennsylvania regions via a fiber-optic communications network to improve emergency response was completed at the end of October. The project was supported by Mission Critical Partners (MCP), which provides consulting services and solutions that support mission-critical communications, specializing in networks, data integration and cybersecurity.
