STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (December 20, 2022) — Mission Critical Partners’ (MCP’s) Dr. James King was recognized for his volunteer service in the 2022 Communities of Excellence Recognition and Assessment Program. Dr. King, a change-management professional who joined the firm earlier this year, was one of 29 Level 3 Community of Excellence Assessment Program Volunteers in the United States.

In 2017, Communities of Excellence 2026, in partnership with the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, launched the Communities of Excellence Assessment and Recognition Program. In parallel with the Baldrige Program’s mission, the purpose of the Recognition Program is to:

  • Develop a nationally recognized standard of community-performance excellence
  • Identify role models of that standard through the Recognition Program
  • Encourage continuous improvement by sharing best practices and providing feedback to communities regarding the performance-excellence journey that will lead to better outcomes for the residents they serve
“This was a special and unique opportunity to fulfill my passion for improving outcomes for our communities,” King said. “I am honored and humbled to be recognized for this service.”

Dr. King supported an assessment of West Kendall, Florida, and the completion of the subsequent feedback report. West Kendall was selected for prioritizing critical outcomes such as access to healthcare, education, and workforce development as a root indicator of prosperity.

Dr. King joined MCP in 2022, where his specialty is organizational change, the Baldridge Excellence Framework, and human resources and development. At MCP, he is responsible for directing organizational change-management strategy for the state of Nevada’s Department of Motor Vehicles. He is applying his expertise to a statewide enterprise-resources planning project. He possesses a doctorate in business administration, a master’s degree in administration, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology. He is a Certified Change Management Professional and Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence.

“Dr. King is a shining example of what the public sector needs,” said John Chiaramonte, MCP president of consulting services. “He has the drive to improve outcomes for our clients, their communities, and constituents, and he embodies MCP’s core values. We are fortunate that he is part of our team.”
