The National 911 Program has selected Mission Critical Partners (MCP) to pilot and evaluate the first subset of the 911 DataPath data exchange model. This pilot project is the next step in building a national 911 data system as envisioned by the 911 DataPath Initiative. The first step was the publication of a strategic plan for the “universe” of 911 data, and the second was the release of Administrative Data for 911 Decision-Making, which features the first subset of the 911 data.

(November 18, 2021) — Mission Critical Partners (MCP) announced that the firm reached a significant milestone when it surpassed the 100th vulnerability assessment on behalf of clients in conjunction with its Model for Advancing Public Safety (MAPS®) methodology. MAPS is a proprietary assessment model developed by MCP that analyzes data and identifies vulnerabilities compared with critical success factors for public safety agencies.

NHTSA and Mission Critical Partners Collaborate to Strengthen Nationwide GIS Data Sharing

(November 8, 2021) — The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Mission Critical Partners (MCP) will collaborate to assess the current status of geographic information systems (GIS) within the 911 community. The goal of the initiative is to define what is required to achieve interoperable GIS data sharing nationwide. NHTSA selected MCP following a full and open solicitation and comprehensive evaluation of all proposals. The National 911 Program, housed within NHTSA, will lead this important effort.

For more than a century, since the earliest pioneers in alarm monitoring began connecting their customers to public safety agencies, the task of separating false alarms from real emergencies has been a persistent challenge. On one hand, thousands of lives and millions of dollars in property are saved every year because of public safety’s response to monitored alarms, ranging from structure fires and carbon monoxide incidents to home/business invasions and burglaries/robberies. On the other hand, most alarms are unverified, and many turn out to be false. That creates a serious conundrum for the public safety community—respond or not?
