City of Philadelphia to Significantly Enhance Public Safety Communications Capabilities and Facilities

MISSION CRITICAL PARTNERS TO PROVIDE NETWORKS, RADIO, 911 AND FACILITIES EXPERTISE TO THE CITY

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (June 16, 2017)— Mission Critical Partners, Inc. has been selected to provide public safety technology and facility consulting services to the City of Philadelphia, which recently kicked off multi-year initiative to evolve its 911 infrastructure and facilities.

The project will bring significantly enhanced first responder communications to Philadelphia and prepare the city’s communications technology and facilities for Next Generation 911 (NG911), a broadband-enabled, IP-based system that allows 911 to keep up with the communication technology used by the public. It also will bring additional enhancements to the City’s 911 center facility and computer-aided dispatch system, as well as a new text-to-911 capability.

MCP will provide 911 management and consulting services to the city regarding its mission-critical communications, including the following tasks:

“WE SUPPORT PHILADELPHIA’S VISION OF EVOLVING ITS EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK, TECHNOLOGY AND FACILITIES TO DELIVER THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF SERVICE TO THE CITY’S FIRST RESPONDERS AND THE PUBLIC,” SAID KEVIN MURRAY, MCP’S PRESIDENT AND CEO. “BECAUSE OUR EXPERTISE SPANS ALL ASPECTS OF MISSION-CRITICAL COMMUNICATIONS, OUR CROSS-FUNCTIONAL TEAMS WILL CONTRIBUTE SIGNIFICANTLY TO A SUCCESSFUL PROJECT FOR THE CITY.”

Philadelphia operates the busiest public safety answering point (PSAP) in Pennsylvania, receiving approximately 3 million 911 calls annually, one-third of 911 calls statewide.
