MCP in the News: Tennessee to Test Cybersecurity of Its Next Generation 911 Systems

State College, Pa., (July 29, 2020)—The Tennessee Emergency Communications Board (TECB), today announced a partnership with Mission Critical Partners (MCP), a leading mission-critical communications consulting and information technology (IT) support services firm, on a new project focused on assessing the cybersecurity status of the state’s 142 public safety answering points (PSAPs). When completed, the cybersecurity assessment will provide the PSAPs with an understanding of their baseline status and increased awareness of vulnerabilities.

Mission Critical Partners is supporting the design, procurement and implementation of a $11 million land mobile radio (LMR) system upgrade in Story County, Iowa. The Iowa State University and Ames police departments have gone “live” on the new StoryComm communications system, a full-scale upgrade to improve service reception and enhance emergency communication countywide.
Mission Critical Partners is supporting an emergency response initiative at California State University - Fullerton, in Fullerton, Calif., analyzing on-campus cameras and their effectiveness. The goal of the project is to look at areas on campus with the greatest need and provide guidance for security updates, said Mike Miller, MCP business development manager and a CSUF alumnus.
