Mission Critical Partners to Support the State of New Jersey in Preparation for the Deployment of FirstNet

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (November 27, 2018)—Mission Critical Partners (MCP), a leading public safety consulting and lifecycle management services firm, today announced that they will partner with the state of New Jersey and its Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP), through the Interoperable Communications Bureau (ICB), to support their efforts with deployment of the nationwide public safety broadband network being developed by the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet).

Since 2016, MCP has advised the NJOHSP with various FirstNet preparation efforts, including coordinating stakeholder education outreach, assessing network requirements and providing guidance to the Governor’s Office. Under this new agreement, MCP will support the NJOHSP with the following:

  • Hosting regional workshops targeting law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services/911 centers that present information about, and promote the use of, internet protocol (IP)-based communication networks like FirstNet.
  • Conducting a public safety answering point (PSAP) Phase 2 project that will discuss strategies for integrating PSAPs with FirstNet and New Jersey’s planned statewide Emergency Services IP Network.
  • Planning for technology transitions, performing ongoing assessments of the coverage provided by the NPSBN in New Jersey and providing input to FirstNet and its contractor, AT&T, regarding gaps and unmet user needs.

“We’re honored to continue supporting the state of New Jersey and the NJOHSP as they work towards the deployment of FirstNet,” said Kevin Murray, MCP co-founder and chief executive officer. “We understand the complexity associated with this transition, and we bring a client-centric mentality of the entire emergency communications ecosystem that will enable them to take advantage of the full potential of this industry-changing opportunity.”

The additional services that MCP will provide as part of this new project will be funded by the NTIA grant under what is known as the second phase of the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP), or SLIGP 2.0.
