Former Operations Chief For D.C. Office Of Unified Communications Joins Mission Critical Partners

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (March 9, 2018)—Mission Critical Partners (MCP) today announced the addition of Jeff Wobbleton to its industry-leading roster of public safety subject-matter experts.

Wobbleton brings extensive public safety experience to MCP, having most recently served as director of operations for 911/311 services at the District of Columbia’s Office of Unified Communications (OUC), which annually handles more than 3 million emergency and non-emergency calls for service. In this role, Wobbleton oversaw the OUC’s daily operations as well as numerous communications implementations and upgrades, including the deployment of text-to-911 service, the extension of Project 25-compliant* digital radio communications to several D.C. agencies, and the ability to encrypt transmissions of fire and emergency medical services (EMS) radios.

As the District’s statewide interoperability coordinator (SWIC), Wobbleton oversaw the integration of voice, data, and video communications between all D.C. public safety agencies and those within the National Capital Region, which surrounds Washington.

Wobbleton began his career with the Maryland State Police, where he served 23 years, rising to the rank of lieutenant and helping to develop one of the nation’s first state-level terrorism intelligence centers. After retiring from the state police, he served for two years as director of the Washington Regional Threat and Analysis Center, an award-winning, state-of-the-art fusion center that enabled information sharing between public and private agencies to enhance homeland security. In this role, Wobbleton assisted the U.S. Secret Service with the planning and execution of President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009.

“IN THE PUBLIC SAFETY SECTOR, DATA IS FAST OVERTAKING VOICE IN TERMS OF IMPORTANCE,” SAID KEVIN MURRAY, MCP’S CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER. “JEFF’S EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE IN HIGH-LEVEL AND HIGH-PROFILE DATA-SHARING INITIATIVES WILL SERVE OUR CLIENTS WELL AS THEY DEVELOP THEIR OWN DATA-SHARING INITIATIVES.”

Currently, MCP offers to its clients nearly 100 public safety subject-matter experts whose collective expertise covers the following key areas:

  • Radio, wireless and broadband communications
  • Networks and systems
  • Next Generation 911 and text-to-911 services
  • Operations and facilities
  • Co-managed and IT services
