STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (August 11, 2021) — Mission Critical Partners (MCP) announced that Joseph Wheeler, the firm’s vice president of justice, management, and technology services, recently was elected as vice chair of the IJIS Institute’s board of directors. The IJIS Institute is a nonprofit alliance that works to expand information use in the public sector.

During his career, which spans more than four decades, Wheeler has led numerous projects that have enabled justice and public safety organizations to enhance data gathering, analysis and sharing. Over the years, Wheeler has been very active in supporting the institute’s various programs and initiatives.

Earlier this year, the institute recognized Wheeler’s contributions to public safety and justice information sharing by presenting him with the 2021 Robert P. Shumate National Public Safety Contributor to Excellence Award, which bears the name of the institute’s first president who also served on the organization’s initial board of directors.

“I truly am honored, and I appreciate the faith and trust that the IJIS Institute members have in me, as evidenced by this vote,” Wheeler said. “I look forward to jumping in as their representative and making a positive contribution to the board in particular and to the institute as a whole.”

"MCP strives to hire experts who are passionate about serving our clients and Joe Wheeler is clearly an industry leader for our justice clients.” said John Chiaramonte, the firm’s president of consulting services. “His election to the IJIS Institute board of directors is the latest evidence in this regard. This truly is a well-deserved honor.”
